MARK J. NOLAN

Mark J. Nolan,represents the third generation Funeral Director in the Nolan family. A graduate of Commack High School in 1990, Mark attended the University of Rhode Island, transferred to SUNY New Paltz, and graduated with a B.S. in Political Science in 1995. Like his father and grandfather before him, Mark attended American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in Manhattan. He began his career at Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, Inc. in 1996.

Mark was a board member of the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association from 1999until 2008, and has been amember on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association. Joining Northport Rotary Club in 2003, he currently sits on the Board of Directors serving as President from2017 to 2019. An active memberof St. Philip Neri Parish, Mark served as a Parish Council member from2004 to 2010. Mark has coachedSoftball for Northport Little League, and with his wife, Nora, coachedGirls lacrosse for the Northport Lacrosse Club.

Martin S. Kohler is a life-long resident of the Northport-East Northport community. A graduate of Northport High School in 1981, Marty attended Farmingdale College to attain his Mortuary Science degree and began his career at Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, Inc. in 1983.

Marty is aPast President and active member of the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Director’s Association.He is amember of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Fort Salonga and is a Trustee on the St. Philip Neri Parish Cemetery Board. Marty is active in local adult softball leagues, loves the outdoors for a round of golf or a day of fishing, andis a dedicated Mets fan. Lets go Mets!!!

Douglas R. Robinson is a life-long resident of the Northport-East Northport community. A graduate of Northport High School in 1980, he attended SUNY Farmingdale and became a licensed funeral director in 1987. He began his career at Nolan &Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, Inc. in 1986.

An active member at St. Philip Neri Church, Doug also serves on the Board of Directors of the Northport Rural Cemetery.

John S. Rannazzisi, Jr. joined Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home as a student in 2005. Graduatingfrom Smithtown High School in 2004, he attendedNassau Community College forMortuary Science. After Graduating from Nassau Community College in 2006, John served his one year Residency with us andbecame a Licensed Funeral Director in 2007.

Eric W. Friszell is a graduate of Nassau community college class of 2019, with a degree in mortuary science. Eric joined the NolanFuneral Home as a Funeral Directing Resident in 2019. He later became officially licensed in the fall of 2020 and a full time member of the Nolan family. When not at work you can usually find Eric on a paddle board, paddling some of the amazing waterways New York has to offer.

John Lee joined the staff at Nolan Funeral Home in June 2023 as an already licensed funeral director of over 26 years. Growing up in Holbrook; he graduated from Sachem High School in 1987 before attending St. Joseph's College where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1991. He would then go on to earn a degree in Mortuary Science from Nassau Community College in 1996.An active parishioner of Christ the King RC Church in Commack; he serves as a member of their Men's Roundtable prayer group as well as theKnights of Columbus and Sons of Italy. A big hockey fan; John was able to coach Ice Hockeywhere his three children went to school at St. John the Baptist HS in West Islip.

John and his wife Tracey have been married over 30 years and reside in King's Park.

KAREN E. BROERE

Karen Broere has been a resident of the Northport-East Northport Community for 29 years. A graduate of Locust Valley High School in 1974, Karen attended C.W. Post to attain a B.S. in Biology and later continued on to become a Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1989. She worked part time as a Chiropractor until 1992 and has been in charge of the financial portion of her husband’s business, All Isle Consumer Services. LTD. since 1982.

Karen and her husband Harry reside in Northport and havetwo grown sons.

Peter J. Nolan is a second generation Funeral Director in the Nolan family. The youngest of Jim and Anne’s four children, Peter graduated from Northport High School in 1962 and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service Mortuary School in Syracuse New Yorkin 1963. Upon graduationfrom Simmons, Peter returned to Northportto work with his father and brother at the Funeral Home. In 1965 he became a licensed Funeral Director.

Peter’s formal involvement with his community began in 1965 when he joined the Northport Fire Department. He continues his service in the Fire Department and currently serves as the Hook and Ladder Co. Treasurer, and is also the Assistant Treasurer to the Department.

In 1970 he joined Northport-East Northport Kiwanis Club, serving a term as President from 1979-1980, and remains active today. Initially a member of the Northport Village Board as Trustee 1975, Peter was elected Mayor of the Village of Northport in 1978; an office he held until 1998.

A life-long parishioner of St. Philip Neri Parish in Northport, Peter currently serves as Trustee on the Board of Directors.

Peter and his wife Laure weremarried in 1972. They reside in Northport Village.

JAMES P. NOLAN, JR

James P. Nolan, Jr. wasa second generation Funeral Director in the Nolan family. The oldest son of funeral home founders Jim & Anne Nolan.Jim graduated from Northport High School in 1957, andAmerican Academy for Funeral Service in Manhattan in1959, earninghis New York State Funeral Directing license in 1961.

Jim served in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam era. Upon his return, he immersed himself in his work and community as a volunteer fireman for twenty years, serving in both the Northport and East Northport Fire Departments and as a eucharistic minister at St. Anthony of Padua Church in East Northport.

A career member of the Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association, Jimsat on the board from 1991 through 2006, serving asTreasurerfrom 1996 through 1998.In 1996Jim became active in the New York State Funeral Directors Association and servedas a Representative, Treasurer, Secretary,Vice President, and finally took office as President of the NYSFDA in August 2002. Even after his retirement in 2005 he continuedhis involvement with the NYSFDA as a member of the Board of Directors. He also servedon the Policy Board for the National Funeral Directors Association.

In 2017, Jim was recognized by his fellow funeral directors with the 2018 Edward J. Garrity Leadership Award for hisdecades of service to the association.

A parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church in East Northport since 1966, Jim served as a Eucharistic Minister from1974 and on.

Jim and his wife Pamela weremarried in 1965. They lived in East Northport until their passing just six weeks apart in 2021.
