I'm proud to have received my certificate for the Data Science for Smart Industry program. Learned a lot the last year from all inspiring professors at Jheronimus Academy of Data Science. I've not only improved my skills and knowledge around Data Science, but also know why a different approach and skills are needed for Data Science projects in the industry compared to the approach at startups and the tech giants. Akshaya Ravi graduated last Friday on her research at Omron on applying deep learning models that are originally developed for language processing in the area of assembly processes to make the product inspection smarter and to save time without affecting the product quality. It gave us very valuable insights on what value deep learning can bring in the world of manufacturing! #manufacturing #deeplearning

Webinar Smart Industry in practiceI gave one of the break out sessions of the webinar Smart Industry in practice. The main topic of the webinar was the research project CERTIF-AI: the certification of production process quality through artifical intelligence. Omron also participates in this project.The goal of the project is to develop a toolkit that uses time series data generated by machines to (i) analyze the performance of an existing production process, (ii) diagnose causes of production problems, (iii) certify / predict that new production processes lead to high quality products.
